WonderBookGifts app privacy notice

Wonderbook Gifts operates the WonderBookGifts native app for the United States store at wonderbookgifts.com. This notice covers information handled through the app, including test versions. Our separate US store privacy policy covers website shopping, payment, order handling and privacy choices. Website photo-based personalization is a separate flow described below.

Current availability: the app is being prepared for public release. Account reading is available only in enabled test versions. Production account reading and in-app account deletion are not available yet. The descriptions of connected account reading below apply when that feature is enabled in your version.

Browsing and information kept on your device

You can browse public book listings and fictional examples without signing in. The app requests catalog information and images from Shopify and our content providers. These requests expose technical information needed to deliver and secure the service, such as your IP address, requested resource and request time.

Saved ideas contains public book identifiers stored on your device. It is not a record of purchases and is not synchronized with your account. Public catalog information may also be cached on the device. Sample reading positions are temporary app state. Purchased-book reading positions stay in memory for the current signed-in session; they are not synchronized to a server and are cleared when that session changes or ends.

Signing in and reading your books

The planned public bookshelf includes a digital reading edition with each printed book purchased from the US store, once that edition has been prepared and made available to the account. No membership is required.

Shopify handles account sign-in on its authentication page. Shopify processes the information you use to sign in, including your account email address. The app receives authorization credentials and uses your Shopify customer identifier to access your account; the native app does not receive or store your Shopify password. App credentials are kept in the device's secure storage.

Our reader service processes account and session identifiers, verified purchase and reading entitlements, and requests for book pages to authenticate you and provide the correct books. Server records include credential hashes, account bindings and session activity. Prepared covers and pages may contain names, dedications and personalized illustrations supplied for your book. They are delivered from private storage using temporary access links.

Signing out clears the app's private reading session. An already issued media link can remain usable until it expires, and a download already started cannot be recalled. The app does not offer an offline private-book download library.

Photos, narration and permissions

The native app does not offer personal-photo uploads, camera capture or microphone recording. It does not receive original personalization photos or private production character sheets. Narration is not available in the current test version. Fictional examples are not created from your family's photos.

Opening the website to personalize or buy a book starts a separate website flow. An adult may provide an original photo, a person's name and appearance details, and optional dedication text. The website sends photo information and personalization details to Shopify with the cart item before checkout. For AI-assisted illustration creation, the production website is configured to use Google Vertex AI, with OpenAI eligible as an automatic fallback; the provider used can depend on the configured route. This is website processing, not a native-app photo upload. AI providers apply their own applicable retention, security and abuse-prevention controls; generating artwork does not guarantee deletion of original photos or all provider copies. Why we use information and who receives it

We use app information to deliver the catalog, authenticate accounts, verify book access, deliver prepared reading editions, maintain security, diagnose service problems and respond to support or privacy requests.

Shopify provides the storefront, customer authentication and purchase verification. Our PrintFlow reader service is hosted on Vercel, and Supabase provides its database and private reading storage. These providers receive the information required for their services. Our production database is hosted in South Korea. Service providers may process information in other countries, and processing locations vary by provider.

The native app has no enabled third-party advertising or analytics SDK. Website advertising, cookies and related choices are described separately in the US store privacy policy. Hosting and security records are separate from advertising analytics. If you contact us, we also process the contact information and details you choose to include so we can respond. Please do not send personal photos in an initial support or privacy request.

Our hosting and security providers may create request logs to deliver and protect the service. Depending on the provider and request, these records can include an IP address, an approximate country or region inferred from the IP address, requested path or resource, request time, status, browser or app information, and request identifiers. Approximate network location is not GPS location; the app does not request device-location permission.

Retention

Saved ideas remain on your device until you clear them or the app's local data is removed. App sign-in credentials are removed on sign-out. Temporary reading positions end with the applicable app session. These device controls do not erase an account, order or book held by our services.

Account, purchase and reading records are retained to provide purchased books, operate and secure the account, handle support and fulfill applicable recordkeeping obligations. A single automatic expiry period does not apply to all of those records. Deletion requests are reviewed for the specific account and associated information; any records that must be retained for a legal obligation or unresolved dispute require an identified reason and duration or end condition.

Backups and security logs have separate provider retention and access controls. Deleting active records does not mean every restricted backup or provider record disappears immediately. We do not promise immediate deletion of all copies or a universal expiry period for website photos. Website personalization and order records are also addressed in the US store privacy policy.

Your choices and requests

Use the app's data controls to clear Saved ideas. Sign out to end the private reading session. Neither action deletes your US store account, purchases or original personalization material. Uninstalling the app also does not delete server-side information.

In-app account deletion is not enabled in the current test version. You can contact contact@wonderbookgifts.com to request access, correction or deletion of information and to ask about the status of a request. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account or that you have authority to act for the person concerned. Do not include account passwords or personal photos in the initial message.

Before public account features launch, this notice will be updated to describe the verified in-app deletion process and its completion and receipt-retention periods. This notice does not claim that signing out, a support message or an accepted request proves erasure is complete.

The website also offers privacy choices for website data sharing. Those controls are distinct from deleting an app or store account. The US store policy explains additional rights and how to exercise them.

Adults and children's information

The app is intended for adults selecting and reading personalized books. Children should not create accounts or submit information through the app. A book can contain information about a child that an adult supplied during website personalization. That information still concerns the child; its website collection and processing are explained in the US store policy.
